NICARAGUA MISSION TRIP
OCTOBER 19, 2024 – October 26, 2024
The Heights Baptist has a mission trip to Nicaragua scheduled for October 19-26, 2024, with Chosen Children Ministries. As you remember, there is an established formal partnership with Chosen Children Ministries. At this time, we are planning on about 30 people participating in this trip.
We will be staying on the Masaya Mission Campus and working in the barrios surrounding Masaya. Chosen Children Ministries will provide housing, meals, ground transportation, and translators. The staff of Chosen Children Ministries on the field in Nicaragua will provide guidance as to all ministry projects. Even though we will have done planning and training before we arrive, it is important that we remain flexible and respond to changes and redirections as they occur on the field.
The approximate cost of the trip is $1600-$1800.
Interest meeting: Sunday, May 5, 2024, in C123 at 12:30 p.m.

Ministry Opportunities - The Nicaragua Mission Trip will offer the following ministry opportunities.
Evangelism
Two or three-person teams will do door-to-door evangelism in the barrios. Individuals participating on these teams will be trained in sharing the Gospel and the technique of using a translator.
Teaching of Children (VBS)
The format of teaching children will be similar to Vacation Bible School. Bible stories and crafts will be used in these sessions along with games. We will use material suggested by Chosen Children Ministries.
Construction
Construction projects will be selected or assigned by the Chosen Children Ministries staff in Nicaragua. Examples of projects are building block or metal homes, addition to churches, etc.
Medical
A medical clinic will be conducted in the barrio(s). The clinic will be staffed by a doctor(s), nurse(s), and a pharmacist. In addition, we will fit individuals as need with reading glasses.
Note: This ministry is dependent on sufficient medical personnel on the team.
