Young Adults

Young adults are those between the ages of 18 to 35. They are single, married and may have a family. They are out of high school and are in college, post college and beginning their careers.

At the Heights Baptist Church, we seek to connect young adults to” God-sized life and love”. By giving them a place to come together we seek to enable them to grow in their walk with Christ and connect at a deeper level to both God and His community. We offer space, both physically and relationally, to intentionally discuss the Bible and theology and how it shapes our thoughts, culture, and lives. Our goal is that Young Adults take ownership and become deeply rooted in their beliefs.

Mission:

The Young Adult Ministry exists to impact our community and world for Christ by creating environments for young adults to reach out to other young adults through worship, Life Groups, service, missions and friendships.

OFFERINGS

1. The Gathering—The purpose of The Gathering is to connect all four of Life Groups from both Campuses in one night of fellowship, worship and teaching. The Gathering offers a time of worship and large group teaching. The large group session is followed by breakouts where young adults can select from a variety of classes to grow in their faith. Breakouts range from the very practical of daily Christian living to the deeper depths of theology and apologetics.
Every First Friday of the month at the Colonial Heights Campus
2. Life Groups On Campus
10:45 Young Adults—CH Campus
Life Groups Off Campus:
6:30pm, Mondays, 2 locations: Matoaca and Chester
3. Sweet Hangs—Sweet Hangs is a time for Young Adults to gather together, hang out and get to know one another. Sweet Hangs offer games, food, friend, fellowship and a chance to do life with fellow believers. Sweet Hangs always follows The Gathering which is the First Friday of every month.
4. Group Outings—Life Groups do not provide enough time to fellowship with those in the class. Time is spent on announcements, prayer and the lesson. These are all good things, but Group Outings provide a chance to know someone beyond the classroom setting.
