Community Groups

A great way to get involved at The Heights Baptist is to connect with a group. Community Groups are designed to give you an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy things that you currently love doing anyway (or have an interest in beginning). We have a wide variety of groups that meet throughout the area and range from sports and exercise to Bible studies, with just about everything in between. Set aside some time and get started by participating in one or more of the groups. And, while you are at it, invite a friend to come along with you. Community groups are not created to replace LIFE Groups, but rather are an additional way that you can grow in your Christian walk by spending some time with new and old friends who share something in common with you.

Connecting Through Prayer

Is a place to arm yourself with the weapon of prayer. You will learn to pray the word of God, exercise your faith, and stir up the gifts God has placed in you.  Learn how to stand in the gap for our nation, state, community, and church.  More importantly, learn how to pray for victory, healing, deliverance, and salvation for yourself and loved ones.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare meets weekly on Monday Nights from 6-8pm at the Colonial Heights Campus to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. The format for the course is video and discussion driven. This is an open class meaning you are free to begin at any time during the series. Many people join us throughout the 13 weeks and just attend the classes that they may have missed when the next session begins.

Cornhole is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. This game is usually played at tailgates, family picnics, or at the occasional cook out. How about we change it up a little bit and put a little Jesus in it. Men, Women and young adults are all welcome in this group to come hang out play some corn hole and talk about God. The good thing about corn hole and this group is we can have as little as two people and upwards to as many as we want as long as we have enough boards and bags we can accommodate as many people that show up. So who wants to come hang out, play an awesome family game and talk about the Lord with me?
