A great way to get involved at The Heights Baptist is to connect with a group. Community Groups are designed to give you an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy things that you currently love doing anyway (or have an interest in beginning). We have a wide variety of groups that meet throughout the area and range from sports and exercise to Bible studies, with just about everything in between. Set aside some time and get started by participating in one or more of the groups. And, while you are at it, invite a friend to come along with you. Community groups are not created to replace LIFE Groups, but rather are an additional way that you can grow in your Christian walk by spending some time with new and old friends who share something in common with you.

This group is for anyone with a motorcycle or tricycle that likes to ride with other Christ-minded people. We will meet at the church several times over the next 6 months as weather permits to ride, sight see, have a meal, or maybe ride in a toy run. All trips will be day trips only and each rider must supply his/her own motorcycle & fuel. The group is designed to bring people together to enjoy nature and exchange personal testimonies. No fees are required but you must have a valid driver’s license with a motorcycle designation and have current insurance on your ride.Signup

LOVE804 Builders provides opportunities to help build wheelchair ramps or do minor home repairs for people in need in the local communities. Repairs range from installing grab bars to repairing stairs, railings and decks. We partner with Project Homes, a non-profit dedicated to improving lives through home rehabilitation and weatherization. Project Homes provides the funding for the materials, so all you need to do is volunteer! You do not need to know how to do any of this – we’ll teach you! We can also provide smoke detectors if you want to provide these to a community area or street. You can take on a project with your life group or simply volunteer to work with another team from our Church. The money is provided by grants, so there are income limitations, but it’s really very generous. There is a short (5 minute max) 2 page form that you and the home owner need to fill out – we can do this for you if you prefer. We do the assessment with you and help you with the materials list – or you can do this yourself after you’ve done a project if you prefer. We provide the tools if needed, and of course, all of the materials needed to complete the work. These projects offer opportunities to pray with families, share the gospel, to be present and listen, and to show God’s love through your caring and loving the people you are serving. It is extremely rewardingSignup

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare meets weekly on Monday Nights from 6-8pm at the Colonial Heights Campus to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. The format for the course is video and discussion driven. This is an open class meaning you are free to begin at any time during the series. Many people join us throughout the 13 weeks and just attend the classes that they may have missed when the next session begins.

Join us this summer for a bi-weekly study Truthfilled By: Ruth Chou Simmons in Colossians. We will walk through the pattern and practice of preaching truth to ourselves as Paul sets the example for what we preach to ourselves. The practice of preaching truth to yourself isn’t an easy fix, a form of self-help, or a formula for success. It’s meeting your perennial trials and challenges of faith with the truth of what is unchanging in Christ. Join us July 19-October every other Monday Night 6-8pm at The Heights Baptist or Friday mornings at 10am in Warfield.Signup

The handiwork of the ladies of the Prayer Shawl Ministry touches the lives of the very young and the very young at heart. They provide a remembrance for occasions of joy and celebration, for grieving, and for comfort. The items they create are gifts that open doors to share the love of Christ. They reach out to the neighbors in their hometown, children in their state capital, strangers in their hemisphere and even the other side of the planet. God is so good to have given them these gifts and talents. Others are blessed because they do not squander their gifts but instead faithfully use them to spread The Gospel. Meets Tuesdays 10amSignup
