Community Groups

A great way to get involved at The Heights Baptist is to connect with a group. Community Groups are designed to give you an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy things that you currently love doing anyway (or have an interest in beginning). We have a wide variety of groups that meet throughout the area and range from sports and exercise to Bible studies, with just about everything in between. Set aside some time and get started by participating in one or more of the groups. And, while you are at it, invite a friend to come along with you. Community groups are not created to replace LIFE Groups, but rather are an additional way that you can grow in your Christian walk by spending some time with new and old friends who share something in common with you.

If you would like to sign up for one or more of these community groups, registration will open on April 27, 2025 and go through May 25, 2025.  After that date, please contact Anna at aheatherly@thb.church.

So, man up, and make it a habit to meet with other guys each Thursday, before you go to work. We will meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday mornings of each month at 7am.

WOMEN

Threads of Love

Led by Lisa Mabry
The Threads of Love Ministry is a group of dedicated women who come together to create handmade items to share Christ’s love with others in our community and across the globe.  Whether knitting warm scarves, crocheting prayer shawls, sewing quilts, weaving wash cloths or stitching bookmarks; members use their skills to bring care and comfort through their handiwork.  More than just a crafting group; we are a place of fellowship, encouragement, and purpose, where every stitch is prayerfully made and carries a message of love and compassion.  Beginner and seasoned fiber artists alike are welcome to join with us to make a difference – one stitch at a time.
Our group began as the Prayer Shawl Ministry in 2009 and has grown to include dozens of different items made using a vast array of skills.  Our group is now inclusive of all fiber arts and we welcome all adult women from our church and community who enjoy:

• Knitting
• Crocheting
• Quilting
• Sewing
• Embroidery
• Felting
• Macrame
• Rug hooking
• Cross stitch
• Tatting
• Needlepoint
• Weaving

Come relax and enjoy stitching with other women sharing our passion for fiber arts while creating tangible reminders of God’s love for the recipients of our items.  “Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)  Weekly meetings are held on Tuesday mornings at The Heights Baptist Church from 10-12 and on the 4th Saturday each month from 11 am – 1 pm in Chester.

New Season Sisters, Widows Group

Led by Sandy Willis
The New Season Sisters Community Group of The Heights Baptist exists to inspire ladies that may be widowed, Divorced, or Single to follow Jesus and show love and compassion for each other. Life changes can cause fear and isolation through many circumstances especially losing a Husband. The purpose of this Community Group is to connect those in similar situations to share their feelings, encourage and support each other.  Often just knowing there are others journeying through similar circumstances can challenge us to feel better about ourselves and God’s purpose for this season of life. We accomplish our mission by coordinating luncheons, trips, shopping, and other events.
