This certification training is provided by the Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia (SBCV) and is designed for potential teachers, volunteers, and helpers. Registration is limited to 20 participants, so please register as soon as possible. For now, this link is only being shared with The Heights, but it will open to all other SBCV churches after December 16 if spots remain.

Snacks and lunch provided. A pre-workshop assignment will be sent with your registration confirmation.

Topics covered at the ESL Basic Workshop include:
• Conducting student placement interviews
• Techniques for teaching English
• Planning an ESL lesson
• Addressing cultural misunderstandings
• Incorporating Biblical material into lessons
• Sharing the gospel with students
• Exploring curriculum options
